Katie Miller is a new voice to the Saskatchewan Indie music scene in Canada, releasing her debut album, “Silverflower,” February 28, 2015. Katie is drawn to musical influences that cross the genres: Neil Young, Lucinda Williams, Eddie Vedder and the Avett Brothers. Folk-rock best describes Katie’s music with a voice that’s been compared to female iconic artists, Alanis Morissette and Stevie Nicks. Katie draws inspiration for her songwriting from her prairie landscape and it’s people, writing about life’s battles and conquests, being true to yourself and finding light out of the darkness.
Katie’s first review on her newly released music came from Taron Cochrane (SK Music Commentator): “A well-written album documenting the highs & lows of life with heartfelt ballads, upbeat numbers and even some angst and smooth harmonica playing!”
