Hailing from Detroit Michigan, Dead Sky is an alternative rock/metal band made up of five members. The band was formed in 2012 and has recently released its own self-titled EP. The band combines melodic guitar riffs, heavy rhythmical passages, and soaring vocal melodies to create a unique blend of music they call their own. “This band has so many musical influence it’s crazy how they all seem to blend together so seamlessly and effortlessly to create our sound”
says drummer Corey Newsom.
The band has had the extreme pleaure of performing at top notch shows, festivals, and venues such as the Machine Shop, Bud Bash, and Dirtfest. They’ve also performed with top tier acts such as Killswitch Engage, Cluth, Nonpoint, All That Remains, In This Moment, and Alien Ant Farm to name a few. They’ve been fortunate enough to have their music played on 88.7FM (CIMX Windsor/Detroit) as well as spread throughout the country/internationally to internet and independent radio stations. “My favorite career highlight for us was having our music played over the jumbo-tron at a Detroit Red Wings game. It was such an honor because we’re all huge hockey fans as well.” says vocalist Tommy Vallejo.
The band is currently working on new music for a full-length album set to release in 2015. “We’re all very excited for the direction our music is heading on the new album. We’ve grown so much as a band and musicians these past few years it’s really exciting to see everything come together.” says bassist Jay Neely.
